About Bay Ridge Prep

Bay Ridge Preparatory School is an independent, non-sectarian K-12 school located in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Founded in 1998, Bay Ridge Prep started with only 35 students in a space that embodied the old-fashioned schoolhouse feel.  Just a little over ten years later, we now have over 325 students enrolled at our two campuses and, as we look to the years ahead, we happily anticipate further growth.

We owe our success to an outstanding professional team who believes that no student is average.  Rather, we hold that each student is an individual with varied talents and needs, and that all students deserve the opportunity to develop these talents and grow into well-rounded human beings.   We strive to provide an environment that not only promotes academic achievement, but also develops the social and emotional maturity of our students.

Parents often find that Bay Ridge Prep is unique in our willingness to look at each child as an individual.  Within any classroom, you’ll see all kinds of learners whose capabilities may vary widely within a subject.  By incorporating the most recent advances in educational research with a focus on multiple intelligences, we highlight the various ways that the students learn and enable them to be independent.  Our population is also wonderfully diverse and welcoming.
